Are you trying to cope at work whilst feeling panicky, anxious and confused? Perhaps you find yourself staring at mountains of things to be done but not have any impetus to deal with them? Maybe you feel like you want to run away. Managing high levels of stress and overwhelm can make it difficult to prioritise and it can be hard to see the wood for the trees. Your thoughts might race and you may fear that you could lose control. You could occasionally feel dizzy or that you might pass out or you could feel self-destructive or that you could explode.

 


If you are experiencing some of these symptoms, it is your body’s way of telling you that it has gone into the ‘fight or flight’ response and that you need to STOP what you are doing. It is giving you a warning shot that should not be ignored.

 

Coaching for coping with panic, anxiety and overwhelm would:

- teach you practical methods to manage your ‘fight or flight’ symptoms

- identify and strengthen your coping mechanisms

- identify ways for you to decompress that reflect who you are
